Coach Dan Miller
Mr. Dan Miller graduated with a BS Sociology degree and a minor in Coaching from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He later attended UNLV where he completed his MSEd, emphasis in Special Ed. He has coached many basketball and tennis teams. Dan also enjoys teaching, caddying and playing golf. He also loves to play tennis with friends and recently played on a tennis team. He is a big sports fan; The Golden Knights for hockey and The Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers/Bucks and the Badgers, both football and basketball teams are his favorites. Dan moved from Wisconsin in 1996 and fell in love with the Las Vegas weather. He became a certified tennis instructor with the USPTA in 2000. Dan took a job teaching after school tennis at The Alexander Dawson School in 2001 and shortly after that became a full-time employee as a health and fitness program assistant. He directed and coached multiple junior and adult tennis teams at Dawson as well as golf clinics. He had long-term teaching assignments with Second Grade, Sixth Grade Math and Seventh Grade English. In his last few years at Dawson, Dan spent a year teaching P.E. in the Early Childhood program and lastly as a Learning Support Teacher. When Dan isn’t working he enjoys music, traveling, hiking and playing sports. He is currently teaching Physical education at YDLV.
