YDLV wishes you a Happy Healthy Sweet New Year!
Rabbi Eli Kaufman was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. After attending the local Jewish schools for Elementary and High School, he continued his Judaic studies in Israel and then New York, at the Rabbinical Seminary of America. During the summers, Rabbi Kaufman was a counselor and eventually director for the SEED program in North Hollywood, California, helping children enjoy their summers in a fun, safe and Jewish environment. During the year, he participated in the local chapter of JEP, where yeshiva students teach Jewish public school children about their heritage.
After years of study, he received “semicha” – rabbinic ordination, as well as completed a course in pedagogy given by Rabbi Mechel Rottenberg, a master educator. Rabbi Kaufman moved to Henderson in the summer of 2011 to join the faculty of YDLV, along with his wife Leah (nee Sirote) and their children, three of which are currently enrolled in YDLV. Rabbi Kaufman is teaching 5 grade boys Torah Studies, Middle School girls chumash and running a Kirah program in the Resource Room.
Our mission is to create and maintain a superior educational environment that inspires in each student a love of G-d, a reverence for the Torah and its mitzvos and a lifelong commitment to the acquisition of knowledge.
