Morah Stephie Buchwald joins YDLV after more than 20 years of work experience as a 1st Grade Morah at Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School. Originally from Guatemala, Morah Stephie is a descendant of a mixture of Sephardi and Ashkenazi Jews who arrived in the country at the beginning of the 1900s. From an early age, Morah Stephie began working in a variety of educational settings and community leadership roles. Her passion for teaching and reaching each student, alongside the deep connections she makes with their families, has allowed Morah Stephie the opportunity to follow their trajectory into adulthood. Some of her former students, now parents themselves, have had the opportunity to bring their own children into Morah Stephie’s classroom! Morah Stephie fosters a love for Torah and carefully designs lessons tailored to promote high academic standards united with strong spiritual and emotional growth. Morah Stephie looks forward to sharing her passion for Jewish education with the YDLV family!
Our mission is to create and maintain a superior educational environment that inspires in each student a love of G-d, a reverence for the Torah and its mitzvos and a lifelong commitment to the acquisition of knowledge.
